We live on the edge of downtown Vancouver, which has been an amazing location during the 2010 Olympic Games. A 15-minute walk gets us to any one of the many happenings around town. Although we are in the process of stabilizing a pretty great sleeping schedule with Bean (fingers crossed that it sticks), there were a few things we really wanted to experience during this once-in-a-lifetime occasion. So we pushed her schedule a bit, and took Bean out to a few different events.

Well, well, well. 39 weeks. That’s a lot of weeks and it has FLOWN by. I really can’t believe that she’s due to arrive in a week. As a friend pointed out, they’re now selling milk with expiry dates after she’ll be born. That’s just crazy!

So what to say about 39 weeks? I’m getting grumpy, I’m not feeling overly social (although I do feel better when I actually do leave the house), my pelvis feels like it is being torn in two, my feet are the size of an elephant’s, and although the urge to bake continues, the urge to clean does not and my house is embarrassingly messy. (I need to clean it because the midwife is going to come here for some of the time I labour at home, and I will die of embarrassment if she sees it like this).
